Wise Owl Quests is educational theatre for primary schools and museums. We bring the curriculum to life through interactive adventures where children become part of the story. They solve puzzles, take on challenges and roll giant dice alongside our characters, developing curriculum skills without it feeling like a lesson.

The Lost Dragon Egg

A 45-minute interactive adventure where children use their KS1 Maths and English skills to solve puzzles, overcome challenges and complete the quest.

The Lost Dragon Egg supports KS1 learning through an interactive adventure incorporating 2D shapes, rhyme, spoken instructions, measuring length, patterns and sequences, number skills and collaborative problem-solving.

By the end of the quest, children will have practised how to:
Recognise and describe shapes; identify and create rhyming words; give and follow clear instructions; and use measurement, patterns and number skills to solve problems.

  • During The Lost Dragon Egg, pupils will have opportunities to:

    • Recognise and identify 2D shapes, using their properties to order and solve a practical puzzle.

    • Recognise and generate rhyming words, developing phonological awareness, vocabulary and their engagement with rhyme and language through Bramble's forest challenge.

    • Listen to, understand and improve spoken instructions, using precise language to help Fern complete a practical task.

    • Measure and compare length in a practical context, deciding whether the bridge is long enough to cross the river.

    • Recognise, continue and solve patterns and sequences during Robin's cave challenge.

    • Use number skills in a meaningful context, including reading the result of a 20-sided die, comparing it with a target number and applying a +2 character bonus.

    • Develop speaking, listening and collaborative problem-solving skills by discussing ideas, responding to questions, explaining answers and contributing towards a shared goal.
